NYS CEC Awards

Individuals who demonstrate a lifelong commitment to children and youth with disabilities and to the Council for Exceptional Children at the state and/or national level.

Demonstrates outstanding contributions to and support for the education and school life of students with disabilities and special education continuum of programs.

Demonstrates excellence in creating and promoting an atmosphere of inclusion for all students with disabilities, advocating parental and student rights under the Americans with Disabilities Act, and generally assuming a leadership role within the community.

Individuals involved in activities related to assisting citizens who have a disability to enjoy and participate more fully in his or her community (e.g., volunteering at recreation programs, fundraising, supplying free food or beverages, etc )
